# Call to Action

Sections built to capture leads and drive action — newsletter sign-ups and contact forms.

Two sections, two different asks. **Newsletter** turns a visitor into a subscriber you can reach again; **Contact Form** opens a conversation you're expected to answer.

### Section overview

| Section      | Page                                                                        | What it does                                                                                            |
| ------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Newsletter | [Newsletter](/docs/volume-themes/sections/call-to-action/newsletter.md) | A full banner with background image, overlay, email field, and optional promo code and countdown timer. |
| Contact form | [Contact Form](/docs/volume-themes/sections/call-to-action/contact-form.md) | Shopify's native contact form with optional custom fields and dropdowns, beside a free content column. |

### Quick decision guide

**I want to grow my email list** → Newsletter. Lead with the benefit, not the word "newsletter".

**I want people to be able to reach me** → Contact Form. Messages go to the customer email in **Settings → Store details**.

**I'm running a timed promotion** → Newsletter, with the **Promo code** and **Countdown timer** blocks. Delete the form block if you don't want the sign-up.

**I need to triage incoming enquiries** → Contact Form with a **Dropdown** block — order, returns, wholesale, press.

**I want a sign-up strip in the footer** → both sections are allowed in the footer section group.

**I want the banner to sit under a transparent header** → Newsletter as the first section, **Overlap** enabled. See [My header is transparent over the banner](/docs/volume-themes/faq/navigation-and-header/my-header-is-transparent-over-the-banner-how-do-i-make-it-solid.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://staylime.com/docs/volume-themes/sections/call-to-action.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
