# Sticky Collection Grid

A collection grid that stays pinned near the top of the viewport while shoppers scroll through it.

Show a grid of collections that stays pinned near the top of the viewport while the shopper scrolls through it — a way to keep collection navigation visible without a shopper losing their place.

***

### How to add

1. In Theme Editor, click **Add section**.
2. Select **Sticky Collection Grid**.
3. Add up to 8 collection blocks, each with an optional custom image override.

### Good to know

* Sticky offset needs to clear your header height — if the grid overlaps the header on scroll, raise the offset.
* Show quantity is on by default, so collection cards will display a product count unless you turn it off.

### Customization ideas

* Pair this with a tall page (lots of collections or a long homepage) — the sticky behavior is most noticeable when there's real scroll distance for it to hold position through.

| Setting               | What it does                                                                         |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Collection blocks | Up to 8 — one per collection, each with a custom image override |
| Enable sticky content | **Defaults to on** |
| Sticky offset | 24–160px, **defaults to 120** — how far from the top of the viewport the grid sticks |
| Show quantity | On by default — shows a product-count badge per collection card |

### Best practices

* Keep the collection count reasonable (4–8) — too few and the sticky effect barely shows, too many and the grid gets crowded.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://staylime.com/docs/volume-themes/sections/products/sticky-collection-grid.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
